Happiness State of Mind

You want to know what happiness looks like

Turn off your headphones

Lift up your eyes from your smartphone

And look around you

Look at the world waiting for you to rejoice

Look at the sun shining hight

At the kids laughing and running around

Look at the grounded trees

And at the pretty flowers opening up

Look at the smiling lady

The handsome guy taking your hand

Look at the mountains trying to catch up with sky

Allow your thoughts to come and go

To sit inside you for a while

Even the ones which seem odd or crazy

Invite them for a tea

Let them be

And they will fly away bedore you think about them again

Cherish your sweet memories

Your loved ones, your fabulous friends

Go on a trip down memory lane

Embrace the day, the silence

Give a hug to the child you were

And stand still for a while

The time for you to realize

Happiness is never too far

Are we supposed to be happy?

I read this sentence in a blog post this morning and it made me wonder.

Happiness is a concept.

We all have different definition of happiness.

For me, happiness is breathing in the now, loving, holding chubby hands, chatting with friends, writing, reading, laughing, dancing, running under the rain, praying in nature, resting and meditating.

You might have a very different definition of happiness.

When hardships show up, I can say that I see happiness differently. Being able to face the day, finding peace in tiny moments, praying, praying and praying again, becomes my definition of happiness.

I was not always feeling like this. When I was younger, I was looking for happiness, for peace. I was chasing a dream that kept moving, whenever I was close to it. I felt empty most of the time. I felt lost.

Some days are sadder than others.

Some days I still want to bang my head on the wall or eat tones of chocolate cookies!

But I can’t say I am not happy.

Like you, I struggle.

Like you, I worry and doubt.

Like you, I wonder why people kill each other and why everybody watches without doing anything.

Are we meant to be happy? I don’t know.

I think we are meant to do a difference in this world, whatever way we want to do it. I think we are meant to help each other. I think we are meant to build a better world. I think we are meant to have faith and become better. I think we are meant to find our own truth and shine in God’s love.

And you? What do you think?

Simple things about my life

The week ended with harsh words and bad memories. But the weekend wiped away my tears.

A trip by train with Mister Pop, smiling to every new face.

Meeting a friend.

Taking the road for a Girls (and a baby boy) week-end.

Finding bright smiles on sweet little girls, behind a door.

Cuddling with Mister Pop and remembering how much these times together are unique.

Waking up early and enjoying a nice breakfast.

Going to the train station to collect the last friend.

Laughing and bringing back memories.

Playing with kids, being tired but not thinking about it.

Dancing and dreaming.

Watching kids kissing each other, being shy and spreading happiness all around.

We are 4 friends. We know each other for 16 – 17 years (already). We went through tough times in the past 6 years or so. But our friendship is still as strong as it was when we started college. We love each other and together we feel nothing can beat us.

How was your week-end? Any sweet times to share?

When we talk about Happiness…

Be Happy, Be Happy, Be Happy
Everywhere, Everywhere, Everywhere

You can’t find a magazine or a book that don’t talk about it these days. And nobody to give a clear definition about what it is To Be Happy.
Some give tips. Others advice to practice this or that.
Some advice to quit the world. Others give up on Society to help them find this state of blissfulness.
I don’t have a definition, but I would only say:

Whatever you enjoy doing, DO IT

I don’t think there is a standard definition
It varies between people
And nobody will ever see it the same way

If your passion is to be the best architect of the year, DO IT
If being a good mum is what matters to you, DO IT
If travelling the world is part of your dream, DO IT
If having a house full of kids and joy is what counts, DO IT

We don’t all have to be Nobel Prices or Human Rights defenders
We don’t all have to be wives and mums at home
We don’t all have to be stars of the Big Screen
We don’t all have to be anonymous

But we all have to find the road that will take us where we suppose to be and grow.

Let your inner-peace spreads its light and shine around you, touch other people lives and hearts.
As long as you are being you, following your path, keeping your faith alive and giving away what you have to offer  – Know that at the end of the day you will be able to define what it is to be happy.

All of you

but with different words!

Tell me all about it………………….

And please let me remind you what His Holiness the Dalai Lama says:

“The Purpose of our lives is to be happy.”
