Now 3 things about me:

I came to poetry while I was living in Ireland and I never looked back.
Every time I hear music I just want to dance.
When I am near the sea I feel like I am at home.

My answers to Grace questions:

  • What is the greatest lesson you have learned? That life will send you the same kind of experiences till you’re ready to see what you need to change!
  • What advice would you give to yourself from 10 years ago? Listen to your heart.
  • What is your favorite and least favorite color? Favorite is blue, least favorite is brown.
  • How would you want to be remembered? Like “she brought colors to my life!”
  • What is your favorite quote? “Even after all this time the sun never says to the earth, ‘You owe me.’ Look what happens with a love like that. It lights the whole sky.” Hafiz

Now let’s see who the nominee’s are:

My questions are:

1- When did you start blogging and why?
2- What’s the most precious feeling in life for you?
3- What is the first thing you see in the morning?
4- How would you describe Life to a young child?
5- What means poetry for you?

And to finish, 3 of my favorite posts here:

Space between

Tracy Chapman sang about “the space between”
What’s in there?

Things we hold as true
Past memories
Odd feelings

We feel the need to fill in
As emptiness is quite frightening
A place where shadows are walking barefoot
Unafraid of the turmoil inside

What’s in there is just
Time trying to catch up time
So we can move on
Without losing our minds

About time…

We hoped
And flew

Away with the sun
Reaching high
Chasing blue skies

Finding solace
In the arms of a lifelong

Words come when I don’t expect them to show up. If I can’t catch them, I let them go. Or I find myself in a place of struggle. I don’t need more these days. I got enough on my plate. Some will say it’s all about being hypersensitive. Maybe. For me, it’s about digesting life events and news that don’t make sense to me. It’s about healing. And healing takes time…

Inside my head

I am watching you

Don’t faint

Don’t cry

Don’t show me your scars

Be brave

Be strong

Fit in the world that I shaped

Don’t try to be different

Or you’ll fail…

I don’t care what you see

I often fall into pieces

I often let tears flow

My scars are the victories I cannot hide

I know when to be brave

How to be strong

I won’t fit in to please you

I am unique

I will succeed…

Great Words – Hard Practice

I started 2012 with great words in mind:
SURRENDER                                       HUMILITY                                                        LET GO
                    PATIENCE                                                                             LET IT BE
                                                LOVE                                    FAITH
STILL YOUR MIND                            PAUSE/REST                  NOURISH YOUR SOUL
Great ideas at the start of a new year. Nine months later I still struggle with most of them. But it’s never too late to start, so slowly I try to LET GO of any thoughts that don’t serve me, of any idea that hurt me, of any worries that darken my days. It’s a daily job that requires lots of practice. I fail miserably some days, sometime I fail every single day of the week. But is this the most important?
I don’t think so. I think the most important is to recognize it and change things, right at the moment I know I am on the wrong road. There is no space for regrets in this daily practice, no place for maybe or maybe not. There is no time better than NOW to make things work, to improve.
So I keep going with these words in my mind, I take the risk to fail and the risk to win a battle too. And I make sure to celebrate every single struggle, even the tiniest one because without this one I will never progress.
And you, tell me which words you have a hard time with? And how you handle it?
